NCAA Men’s Final Four Street Closures

  • The following closures will be in effect for different periods of time to accommodate NCAA Men’s Final Four events.
    • NEW: Total closure of South Street between Missouri Street and Capitol Avenue from April 2 to April 6.
    • NEW: Total closure of South Street between Capitol Avenue and Illinois Street from April 3 to April 6.
    • NEW: Total closure of South Street between West Street and Missouri Street from April 3 to April 6.
    • NEW: Total closure of Washington Street between White River Parkway Drive and West Street on April 5 from 12:30 to 2:30PM for NCAA Men’s Final Four Dribble.
    • NEW: Total closure of New York Street between University Boulevard and White River Parkway Drive on April 5 from 12:30 to 2:30PM for NCAA Men’s Final Four Dribble.
    • NEW: Partial closure of Capitol Avenue between Ohio Street to Maryland Street starting April 2.
    • Total closure of Michigan Street between Meridian Street to Pennsylvania Street from March 27 to April 10.
    • Total closure of Meridian Street between St. Clair Street to Michigan Street from March 29 to April 8.
    • Total closure of St. Clair Street between Meridian Street to Pennsylvania Street from March 28 to April 9.
    • Total closure of North Street between Meridian Street to Pennsylvania Street from March 19 to April 10.
    • Total closure of Pennsylvania Street between St. Clair Street to Michigan Street from March 20 to April 10 between 10AM and the conclusion of each night’s events.
      • Pennsylvania Street will return to a partial closure outside of those times.

 

Event Street Closures

  • NEW: The following partial closures will be in effect on April 3 from 5PM to 7PM for St. Mary’s Way of the Cross.
    • North New Jersey between Vermont Street and New York Street.
    • East New York Street between New Jersey Street and East Street.
    • North East Street between Lockerbie Street and Ohio Street.
    • East Ohio Street between East Street and College Avenue.
    • North College Avenue between Ohio Street and Lockerbie Street.
    • Lockerbie Street between College Avenue and Park Avenue and between Park Avenue and East Street.
  • NEW: The following total closures will be in effect on April 3 from 11AM to 2PM for St. Patrick Church Way of the Cross.
    • Woodlawn Avenue between St. Patrick Street and Leonard Street.
    • St. Patrick Street between Woodland Avenue and Prospect Street.
    • Prospect Street between St. Patrick Street and Leonard Street.
    • Leonard Street between Prospect Street and Woodlawn Avenue.

 


Local Street Closures

  • Full closure of West Market Street from N. Capitol Avenue to N. Illinois Street in effect until further notice.
  • There is a full closure of Illinois Street between South Street and Georgia Street.
    • There will be one lane open on Illinois Street until further notice to allow for the relocation of utility lines required ahead of the Signia by Hilton construction.
    • The detour will route cars to circle in a loop south on Capitol Avenue and north on Meridian Street.
    • Cross streets at South Street is open.
    • There will be a full closure of Georgia Street between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue until further notice.
    • There will be a partial closure of Capitol Avenue in the two eastern most lanes between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue until further notice .
  • Multiple partial closures are in place until further notice for the CSX Hotel and Music Venue construction:
    • Georgia Street south lane between Scioto Street and Pennsylvania Street.
    • Scioto Street between Louisiana Street and Georgia Street.
    • Westernmost Pennsylvania Street southbound lane between Georgia Street and South Street.
    • The project is anticipated to take 35 months until completion

 


Indiana University Health Closures

  • Closures for new hospital construction for the week of March 30th:
    • A single lane closure along west side of Capitol Avenue between 16th Street and 14th street.
    • Intermittent lane impacts along 16 Street and Capitol Avenue due to construction activities.
  • Closures for construction activities until further notice:
    • Total closure of Senate Avenue between 12th Street and 16th Street.
  • Closures for Central Utility Plant construction until further notice:
    • Intermittent lane impacts along 12th Street between Senate Avenue and Capitol Avenue due to material deliveries.
  • Closure for South Support Building construction until further notice:
    • A partial closure of Capitol Avenue between 13th and 14th streets is in place due to construction operations.
  • Closures for pedestrian trail construction until further notice:
    • Partial closure of Senate Boulevard eastern-most northbound lane between 21st Street and 16th street for trail construction.

Blue Line Construction

  • Partial closure will be in place along Washington Street between Rockville Road and Belmont Avenue for approximately five months.
  • Partial closure will be in place at the Washington Street and College Avenue intersection for Blue Line construction:
    • One eastbound and one westbound lane will remain open on Washington Street
    • This temporary closure will be in place for one year.
  • Partial closure will be in place along Washington Street from Belmont Avenue to Harding Street for approximately six months:
    • One eastbound lane will remain open.
    • Westbound traffic will detour south on Harding Street to I-70 West and take the Holt Road exit to return to Washington Street.
  • Partial closure will be in place along the south side of Washington Street from Pleasant Run Parkway to Colorado Avenue:
    • One eastbound and one westbound lane will remain open in the north lanes on Washington Street.
    • This temporary closure will be in place for ten months.
  • Full closure will be in place at the Washington Street and Emerson Avenue intersection for water line relocation.
  • Partial closure will be in place along Washington Street from State Avenue to Southeastern Avenue for approximately 90 days:
    • One westbound lane will remain open.
  • Impact of closures on IndyGo’s Route 8:
    • All westbound bus stops along Washington Street between North White River Parkway and Belmont Avenue will be closed.
    • Routes will also detour using North White River Parkway, Michigan Street and Holt Road.
    • Temporary stops will be implemented near the Washington Street and North White River Parkway intersection and the Washington Street and Belmont Avenue intersection.
