ABOUT INDIANA REPERTORY THEATRE
The Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) was founded in 1972 and is the only theatre in Indiana to belong to the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). The IRT currently produces seven productions annually across two stages (the OneAmerica Mainstage and the Upperstage) for diverse audiences. The repertoire includes work varying from world premieres to classics. The IRT serves audiences of multiple generations including students from third through twelfth grade. With a significant endowment, the IRT has relative financial stability and is debt free. Following many decades of diverse programming, the IRT leadership, in the past four years, has focused on further diversifying its staff and board, including ongoing anti-racist training for all.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- IRT is looking to rebuild our overhire lists as we recover from the pandemic. Positions include Scenic Carpentry, Upholstery, Scenic Artistry, Cabinetmaking, Rigging, Costume Construction, Pattern Making, Electrics, Audio Engineering, Projections, Stage Management, Production Assistants, etc.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
- General knowledge in your given field or in some instances, simply the desire to learn more about a department.
- General knowledge in technical theatre practices.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Associate Managing Director (AMD) is a member of the senior management team of the Theatre reporting to the Managing Director, and also working closely with the Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director, the Board of Directors, and the Production Manager. The AMD will work closely with the three unions (Actors Equity Association – AEA, United Scenic Artists – USA and Society of Directors and Choreographers – SDC) and negotiate all related contracts. The AMD will obtain rights for all works as needed, and with the Managing Director, will assist in board relations, building management, and office operations. In coordination with other team members, the AMD will develop the artistic and production budgets.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serving as the primary liaison to unions, managing and filing union reports (including payroll), and administering and supervising compliance with CBA’s
- Creating and overseeing the artistic budget, with the guidance of the Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director
- Creating the production budget, with the guidance of the Production Manager and the Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director
- Negotiating and drafting all license agreements, royalties, commission agreements and contracts for actors, directors, designers, other guest artists and playwrights
- Assisting the Managing Director in board relations, building management and office operations
- Assisting the artistic team with the union audition requirements
- Leading co-production/transfer budgeting and contracting
- Overseeing space rentals and events manager
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Advance IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) goals in all policies, procedures, and practices
- Work cross-departmentally to carry out projects and resolve problems and anticipate needs of management and other IRT departments
- Is a team player with the leadership team and theatre-wide
- Manage projects, maintain and meet deadlines, prioritization and multitasking
- Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. MFA in arts management ideal or equivalent work experience.
- Experience as an associate general manager or general manager in a theatre or arts setting

POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Arrive an hour and a half before curtain time.
- Responsible for delivering excellent customer service and meeting the needs of all patrons.
- Check restrooms for cleanliness before shows and after intermission.
- Make sure all doors are unlocked.
- Close doors before Acts, open them after.
- Check that house is clean.
- Scan tickets.
- Help patrons find their seats, restrooms, etc.
- Prepare programs and manage distribution.
- Maintain the image of the Grand Lobby and all public areas; communicate with housekeeping as necessary to ensure a clean environment.
- Work with House Manager to resolve any patron issues.
- Assist managing volunteer ushers.
- Have a working knowledge of ticket-scanning equipment, hearing impaired devices, walkie-talkies, emergency exits, Assist House Manager with emergency procedures.
